General English Course (B2/C1)
What are General B2/C1 English courses?
Victoria Road's General B2/C1 English courses are designed to help you reach the next CEFR level: B2 if your current level if B1, and C1 if your current level is B2. The classes are based on the communicative method of Cambridge CELTA, focusing on developing your fluency and confidence in spoken English.
During the course, you will be able to improve all the four language skills (Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading) with internationally renowned coursebooks, and expand your vocabulary and grammar which are required to reach the new level.

The classes are highly student-centred, where you are guided towards self-discovery of the target language. The academic environment is very stimulating, allowing you to improve your English language skills with a highly professional guidance.

The class typically begins with a warm-up and a lead-in into the topic, usually in the form of questions. Then you work on a Listening or Reading task, practising Listening and Reading strategies and practising your receptive skills.
Afterwards, we focus on the language (vocabulary or grammar) used in the audio or text. You explore the meaning, pronunciation and form of the target language, giving you a complete understanding of the lexical units or grammar structure. We then move on to a short controlled practice before a larger speaking task.
All classes end with a 15 or 20-min speaking activity, allowing you to have extensive freer practice of the language you have learnt during the class. The class ends with detailed feedback on your strong points and progress areas relating to the target language.
All lesson plans follow the rigorous standards of the Cambridge CELTA communicative method, used in the leading language schools worldwide

You can choose between a one-to-one course and group courses (all the groups are small - up to 3 students). If there are not enough students to form a group, then only private courses are possible.
If you are a new student, you can book a free Trial Lesson to help you understand whether you would like to do the course or not. To book a 45-min Trial Lesson, contact Victoria.
